Eco Policy Advocate

Welcome to the EcoPolicyAdvocate

Inspired by Elizabeth Anderson's essay, "Democracy, Public Policy, and Lay Assessments of Scientific Testimony", the EcoPolicyAdvocate was created with a mission to simplify and scale environmental advocacy efforts. The EcoPolicyAdvocate was designed to address a tension between two key demands in American society - that public policies be empirically responsible and that they be democratically legitimate.

Ordinary citizens often face difficulties comprehending scientific research and engaging with technical public policies, especially in the context of the environment. I created the EcoPolicyAdvocate, in partnership with multiple local, national, and international organizations, to be an all-in-one bill tracker that analyzes legislation on a daily basis. Powered by Generative AI, the website summarizes bills and creates templates for messages that you can send to your representatives, urging them to take action.

Our mission is to create well-informed, impactful messages for advocacy, from sending emails to elected officials to delivering powerful speeches. Our vision is to empower individuals and nonprofits in addressing global environmental issues.

We are working on rolling out the following features in the next few weeks:

    1. Incorporating ZIP code for personalized messages to representatives and their stance on bills.
    2. Creating bill-specific forums for questions, expert responses, and community involvement.
    3. Collaborating with nonprofits to enhance AI accuracy and trust, allowing bill modifications and improved templates.
    4. Developing user accounts to foster a community, facilitating connections with fellow activists and organization members.
    5. Searching for custom interests and specific phrases within bills.

We're actively conducting internal beta tests with a select group of nonprofits to make improvements. We welcome your feedback as your input is highly valued, and we thank you for your involvement as an activist.
